Class Abilities play an important role in all facets of the game, while Supers can also have a similar effect in many game modes. It's advised that you tailor your build to have 100 stats, also known as Tier 10, in both Intellect and Class Ability.

By focusing on this stat, you can use the Class Ability far more frequently, plus any additional attributes it provides. While stats can be relevant for all characters, each class has a specific stat that governs its "Class Ability." These Class Abilities form the basis of the class identity. Bungie has also clarified that the Base Cooldown of all stats starts at Tier 3, so anything under 30 may feel underpowered. There are also only 10 tiers, meaning that anything beyond this threshold is also a poor investment. This means that not landing on a rounded 10 could be considered a waste of stats.
For every 10 points within each stat, you also gain what's known as a stat's tier. Stats start at zero and climb to 100, which marks the maximum cap for each attribute. You can view what role each stat plays and how it impacts your Destiny experience via the character screen. When talking about the best builds, it ultimately boils down to stats, governing how your damage, abilities, health, and movement work in-game.
